The exhibition, with free admission, will be open from 24 February to 15 June at Moll de Gregal and forms part of the collaboration between BSM, the Fundación MAPFRE and the ICUB.
The KBr Live programme also resumes, featuring concerts and family workshops designed to introduce younger audiences to the art of photography.
EFrom 24 February to 15 June, Port Olímpic presents a new photographic exhibition in its partnership with BSM, Fundación MAPFRE and ICUB, aimed at bringing photography and performing arts closer to the port.
The exhibition features a selection of images from “Pérez Siquier. Fundación MAPFRE Collections”, showcasing the work of Spanish photographer Carlos Pérez Siquier, widely recognised as a pioneer in redefining photographic language and for his sensitive and modern portrayal of Spain’s social transformations.
The photographs of Carlos Pérez Siquier (Almería, 1930–2021) reflect a career that reshaped the understanding of photography in Spain, combining intuition, innovation and a deeply humanistic perspective. Over more than six decades, he sensitively documented everyday life and social change, from portraits of the La Chanca neighbourhood to iconic images of the tourism boom on the beaches of Almería. His pioneering use of colour photography has become a benchmark, blending formal rigour, visual poetry and a critical reading of a country in transformation.
The KBr Live cultural programme returns to Port Olímpic
With the installation of Pérez Siquier’s exhibition at Moll de Gregal, the programme of free concerts and activities under KBr Live also resumes, reinforcing Port Olímpic’s role as a cultural and family-friendly space.
The programme kicks off on Saturday 28 February at 12:30 pm with a jazz concert performed by students from the Conservatori Liceu. This will be followed by a series of concerts scheduled for 15 and 29 March, 12 and 26 April, and 10 and 24 May, all linked to the exhibition “Walker Evans. Now and Then”, on view until 24 May at the KBr Fundación MAPFRE Photography Centre.
In addition to concerts, KBr Live once again offers free activities for families, designed to introduce younger audiences to the language of photography through hands-on workshops and participatory sessions combining exhibition visits with creative outdoor exercises. These activities take place on Saturday mornings from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm and are aimed at families with children aged 7 to 12.
Through its open-air exhibition and programme of concerts and activities organised in collaboration with Fundación MAPFRE and ICUB, Port Olímpic strengthens its position as an accessible, welcoming cultural space open to all ages.
