The Barcelona Firefighters team has carried out joint simulations with the Port Olímpic's marine crew to enhance coordination and response to maritime emergencies. These exercises, conducted over three days, included training for boat fires, harbor entrance closures, and evacuations of injured individuals, among other actions.

During the drills, firefighters and the marine crew practiced closing the harbor entrance and deploying containment barriers for hydrocarbon spills. These measures aim to prevent the spread of pollutants and protect nearby beaches in the event of an accident.

One of the highlights was a simulated boat fire. In this scenario, the marine crew used a fire pump to control the flames until the firefighters arrived. The firefighters then towed the vessel and set up containment and absorption barriers to prevent potential fuel spills.

Additionally, evacuation drills for an injured person were conducted, testing the emergency protocol and coordination among the involved teams.

These exercises not only help identify potential improvements in response protocols but also strengthen cooperation between the Barcelona Firefighters and the Port Olímpic's security teams. The goal of this training is to ensure a more efficient and safer response in real emergencies.
