Experience the port, all year round! Events, sports, education, and community

Living Lab Setembre

The port as a space for citizens: open, accessible, and lively all year round

Port Olímpic has the opportunity to redefine itself as a lively, open, and useful space for citizens. The challenge is to turn it into a place where sports, health, culture, and environmental education coexist and generate social value beyond traditional uses.

In this session, we will discuss how to make the port an inclusive and accessible environment, where nautical activities are promoted for all audiences, events that connect with the local community, and educational initiatives that bring the sea closer to children and young people.

In this session we will use the Fishbowl format, a discussion methodology that combines structure and openness to ensure that all voices are heard.

How does it work?

  • Inner Circle: 4-5 participants initiate the discussion on the challenge posed.
  • Outer circle: The rest can observe and, when they want, take a place in the inner circle to intervene.
  • Flexible participation: There are no fixed turns: the rotation is done in a natural way according to the interest of the participants.
  • Shared conclusions: All contributions will be synthesized to elaborate concrete proposals for the Living Lab.

What will you take away?

  • A dynamic debate, where you can listen or intervene as you prefer.
  • The possibility of enriching the discussions with your perspective.
  • Real impact: the ideas raised can be used to define new projects.

Challenge of the session:

What actions can be taken in ports to make them a more vibrant and inclusive space, connected to people, sport, culture, and environmental education?

Key points for discussion among all participants during the FISHBOWL:

🔹 Collaboration between sports clubs and the administration
🔹 Sporting events and their impact on community health
🔹 How can nautical activities be brought closer to new audiences?
🔹 Proposals for activities and events to revitalize ports
🔹 How can Port Olímpic be turned into an inclusive space for everyone?
🔹 How can ports be turned into a living classroom for schools and families?
🔹 Collaborative projects between schools, scientists, and port companies
